Professional Steam Curtain Cleaning

At Carpet Clinic, our staff have undergone extensive IICRC training and accreditation in both Upholstery as well as Curtain Cleaning.

Save time and money by not having to pull your curtains down and take them offsite – we can generally clean most curtains while they are still hanging. 

In the hot Darwin environment, where windows and louvres remain open for months on end, curtains are the first obstacle to trap airborne dust, particles and microbes. Although it is recommended most curtains are cleaned once to twice per year, this rarely occurs due to the inconvenience, time and cost involved of pulling them down and taking them to a Dry Cleaner.

At Carpet Clinic, we use our high powered, vehicle mounted steam cleaners with a specially modified Curtain Cleaning attachment to maximise cleaning efficiency, while using the gentlest possible procedure. Steam Cleaning not only removes most soil, dust and stains, but also sanitises the curtains, greatly reducing their microbial load – especially dust mites and their highly allergic residue.

Unfortunately, although our equipment is specially designed for Curtains, we are unable to clean some highly fragile materials (such as extensively sun damaged fabric) and sheer curtains. We also do not clean lace curtains – again because they are generally too fragile. On arrival, our first task is to inspect the curtain prior to its clean and if necessary, conduct a small spot test in an inconspicuous area if we are unsure of the safety of cleaning it. If we deem the fabric unsuitable to clean, we will let you know and no charge will be levied.
