What is IICRC?

The Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification, (IICRC), is an International Certification and Standard-setting non-profit organization for the inspection, cleaning, and restoration industries. The IICRC provides professional work standards, continuous training, and education to service professionals globally in the cleaning and restoration industry. This training ranges from technical aspects such as, drying water damaged carpets and furniture through to the most current, safest and most effective cleaning techniques for Carpet and Upholstery. Technicians are required to take multiple training courses and seminars every year to stay updated on the new equipment and to learn new methods. 

Why is IICRC Certification Important?

As consumers we always want to find companies we can trust. We want to find companies that are qualified for the job, as well as have morals and values, The IICRC finds these companies for you. Unlike most trades, carpet and fabric cleaning and flood restoration do not legally require professional training. This means anyone and everyone can call themselves a "professional carpet cleaner or restorer." This is why the IICRC is important, it keeps people accountable and lets consumers know who the real professionals are. Here at Carpet Clinic NT, all of our technicians are IICRC certified, and we are an IICRC certified firm! An IICRC Certified Firm must first employ one or more IICRC certified technicians, and apply with the IICRC to become a certified firm. Certified firms are the only cleaning, restoration and inspection companies listed in the IICRC locator. They also promise to adhere to the IICRC Code of Ethics, be current in their business insurance, license requirements, and can proudly display the IICRC logo on their company website and vehicles. The majority of people in the cleaning industry learn gradually over time through trial and error – don’t let them learn on your precious carpet and lounges. We are constantly called upon to remedy past cleaning disasters by other contractors.
